Welcome to the 'nine months of...' blog

Pregnancy Sickness Support (PSS) is launching its first national 'nine months of...' campaign to raise awareness of the conditions it supports. It will start on the 8th August and end on the 15th May 2014, which is International Hyperemesis Awareness Day.

Participants across the country are getting involved in nine months of fundraising and awareness raising with personal challenges

Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) is a severe form of pregnancy sickness and is a potentially life threatening condition. Excessive and unrelenting vomiting and nausea prevents adequate intake of food and fluids. It is an extremely traumatic condition that requires medical, practical and emotional support. Pregnancy Sickness Support is a UK based charity that provides information and support to sufferers of pregnancy sickness and Hyperemesis Gravidarum and encourages further research into the conditions. The small charity is run almost entirely by volunteers and it relies completely on donations.

The 'nine months of…' fundraiser is made up of several people setting out to challenge themselves in a number of activities ranging from the physically demanding to the creatively difficult. All the participants in the campaign have suffered the debilitating condition of HG and wish to support other sufferers.
